Historic Emigrant Trail Trek

Long were the days of our early emigrants. And, the hardest part of the 1849 Gold Rush was over nearby Carson Pass, most notably the treacherous Devil’s Ladder. Join us on a walking, hiking, and driving tour that follows the very same paths where emigrants followed in oxen-pulled wagons. Enjoy the tales of this remarkable journey, excerpted from authentic diaries. Celebrate the triumphs and note the endeavors and hardships of those who made their way across America. Feel their fears, and know their hopes and dreams for a better future. Historian Dianne Jennings will lead the way. (Non-hiking alternatives offered). Enjoy an evening slide-show the night before the hike. For trek and/or lodging reservations, call Sorensen’s at (800) 423-9949 or (530) 694-2203.
