Join botanist/biologist Steven Cochrane in exploring the stunning wildflowers of Alpine County. We’re expecting a super-bloom after such a spectacularly wet winter. Visit meadows, forests and riverside habitats to learn about plant families, enjoy wildflower stories and the use of field guides (bring your own guide or borrow one of Steven’s) for this easy to moderate hike. Steve has led California Academy of Sciences, Smithsonian and Yosemite Institute classes. Plan on car-pooling to local sites. Bring a hat and light rain gear (just in case!) and wear comfortable hiking boots. For class reservations and/or lodging, please call us at 800.423.9949.
