With our lovely wilderness setting, friendly ambience, and intimate gathering spaces, Sorensen's makes an ideal setting for your special event. Couples looking for rustic elegance, stunning settings, and careful attention to detail will find Sorensen's perfect for their special day. Our staff can help you do it all. We'll help you pick the right location for your ceremony — perhaps our specially designed Wedding Gazebo tucked in among the aspens. We can also help design your menu, which we prepare on site. A maximum of 125 guests can be accommodated.

Located along the Sierra's Old Emigrant Trail, a perfect place for circling your wagons, reshaping your goals, polishing policies, or establishing new vision. With our lovely wilderness setting, friendly ambience, and quiet gathering spaces, Sorensen's makes an ideal setting for your special event. Our collection of cabins and other lodging areas make a relaxed setting for small conferences, seminars, and workshops. Facilities include the two-story Norway House, a sod-roofed, hand-hewn log structure imported piece by piece from its native land. Here, we can accommodate up to 50 participants in theater-style seating. Smaller cabins or outdoor sites can serve as break-out areas. Though we see ourselves as a low-tech resort (no phones in cabins, no TVs), we do offer computer link-ups and fax in the resort office. Audiovisual equipment is also available.

Our café serves delicious meals three times a day. In between, guests can stop by for a complimentary cup of coffee or cocoa and afternoon glass of wine. Some of our specialities include classic beef burgundy stew, grilled salmon, New York steak, BBQ chicken and ribs, garden-fresh salads and sumptuous homemade desserts. We also offer an assortment of fine wines, champagnes and imported and domestic beers. The cafe is open from 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.

Sorensen’s Gift Shop

Sorensen’s quaint gift shop offers a wonderful variety of gift items. Choose from local wildlife and outdoor photography, art and gift cards or books on the Emigrant Trail, fishing or Sierra wildflowers – just to mention a few. We also carry a nice assortment of fine wines and a few gourmet foods. And if it’s Sorensen’s-branded mugs, clothes or hats you’re looking for, we have a great selection of quality items that will fit anyone’s style. Also, our book selection has been noted as “one of the best” and “the most unique titles!”
